The C.O.R.E. Process

When we consider what we want students to know or be able to do to be career (and college) ready, in English Language Arts, we all want our students to read and write effectively in diverse content areas, use language to communicate effectively, and acquire new, domain-specific vocabulary. In this lesson, we will move past the "what" of standards to identify a 4-step process, known as the C.O.R.E. process (Collaborate, Orient, Relate and Enhance).
